The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (IDHW), through the Idaho Statewide Healthcare Innovation Plan (SHIP), is implementing a Community Health Worker (CHW) training program in collaboration with Idaho State University. Two training opportunities begin next month:
- Live online, Wednesday evenings from 6:00-9:00 PM (MST) for 13 weeks beginning August 23, 2017
- In-person at St. Mary’s Hospital in Cottonwood, Tuesday evenings from 5:30-8:30 PM (PST) for 13 weeks beginning August 22, 2017
There is no cost to participate in either training course for individuals accepted into the program. The application and registration period is open and space is available in both courses!

3. Individuals must apply and receive a registration code from IDHW to participate in either CHW courses at no cost. Please visit the SHIP CHW website for the participation application: http://ship.idaho.gov/WorkGroups/CommunityHealthWorkers/tabid/3054/Default.aspx. A complete application includes two parts, an application completed by the training participant and one by the employer or community sponsoring organization.
